Air-dried (AD) Products:
This is the most common approach used in pet treats production. Moisture can be reduced up to 12% (commonly 18% to 25% in retail packages). At Canukshuk, the drying technology has been brought to its next-generation through our LUCD) system. It has been developed to use in Canada’s extreme climate with long cold / dry winter and hot summer with humid peaks.
Freeze-dried (FD) Products:
Freeze-dry is originally derived from astronaut food technology. It allows frozen raw material’s moisture to reduce to 5% by indirect heat in a vacuum environment. The ultra-light FD products can extend shelf life to 8 years and retain over 90% of raw nutritional value.
