Canukshuk’s long-term R&D partner Professor Kyle Bobiwash of the University of Manitoba (Agriculture and Food Science) and his research team are specialized in food science, nutrition analysis, formula development, diet and health studies.
Engineering Director: Dr. Eric Bibeau
Dr. Eric Bibeau is an alternative energy expert and professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manitoba. With over 30 years of industrial experience, his bio-mass furnace systems and clean energy generators have been successfully deployed in numbers of rural, remote, territorial communities and manufacturing facilities. Eric is Canukshuk’s principal and the leading member of the LUCD system’s engineering design and development team.
Production and Exportation Director: Wen Zhu
Canukshuk’s CEO Wen Zhu has an academic background in food science (Master’s degree in Biology from Nagoya University, Japan) and abundant work experience in the food industry. Wen has established and managed a number of similar processing facilities with the highest level of export regulatory compliance. Before his career with Canukshuk, Wen was the Deputy Executive of Shandong Everest Food Co., Ltd. As Canukshuk’s distribution partner, Everest is a pet food manufacturer and exporter with 4 plants, over 1200 employees, a revenue of USD $57.6 million (2021) and currently distributed to more than 20 nations.
Marketing and Distribution Director: Ben Pinsloo
Canukshuk’s Business Development & Administrative Officer Mr. Prinsloo has multiple years of company ownership and international business experience. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in law and MBA from the University of Stellenbosch in RSA. Mr. Prinsloo was the Development Manager for the Shoprite Group of Companies which is Africa’s largest food retailer operating across all of Africa. Mr. Prinsloo has a strong ability to factor in current and future external market changes and drive forces into the marketing strategy. His expertise helps companies to grow in domestic markets and expand to global markets, based on changing market conditions.
